Four Quick Tips To Achieving Good Skin Care
Visits to the dermatologist are not your thing. Beauty clinics are after all the turf of women. Even so, you can achieve great-looking skin that is sure to wow the female populace. Here are some quick and easy tips on how you can give yourself the efficient and effective skincare your face and body need.
1. Do not use body soap on your face. Body soap contains harsh ingredients enough to suck the moisture out of you, while facial skin is delicate. Wash your face with a facial wash and if you find this too girlish, then stick to giving your face a light massage with lukewarm water. Lukewarm water opens up pores and unclogs dirt trapped in them. Close your pores back with cold water if you are preparing for a dusty outdoor ride.
2. Do apply sun block. The absence of sun block makes your skin a candidate for dryness and sun burn. If you think you are allergic to sun block, try alternatives such as mineral sunscreen which is available in both dry and wet varieties. Again, do not be afraid of being labeled as a sissy. Many male athletes do wear mineral sunscreen as an extra precaution against sun burn and sun spots.
3. Do follow a razor shaving ritual. If shaving for you is just a one-step process, you may have to implement changes. A razor shaving ritual protects yourself from the shaving cuts you and your friends are used to. The steps are definitely more than just one, but they are easy to execute and promise less painful results.
• Cleanse the area to be shaved. Water helps soften both the skin and hair. The cleansing activity itself minimizes the possibility of getting infections from any cuts made during shaving.
• Apply shaving cream or soapy water or even foam from some mild shampoo or conditioner. This allows the blades to glide through the skin and reduces your chances of slicing your skin.
• Shave with a new blade or a cleaned one. You may want to get an electric razor to help you do the job smoothly, safely and quickly.
• Wash off with lukewarm water and apply an alcohol-free moisturizer or facial toner. Like the first step, this last step minimizes any untoward infections from developing.
4. Do scrub your face once or twice weekly – this is if you or your family has not been diagnosed with rosecea. Scrubbing helps you optimize skincare in at least three ways. First, it aids in blood circulation. Second, it exfoliates dead skin cells and dislodges blackheads. Third, it reduces ingrown hair growth in your face and body. Do the scrubbing along with your routine facial washing. The only change is that you will be substituting your facial wash with the facial scrub.
Skincare for men is easy as one, two and three. To recall: Do wash you face with a facial cleanser and lukewarm water; do apply sunblock; do go beyond step one while shaving; do scrub your face regularly.
